Dawn R. Broers, MSW, LCSW,
I am a 43 year old social worker living and working in Bourbonnais, IL. I have been married to my better half, Tom, for over 7 years. Between the two of us we have four teenagers: two are mine, Ben and Alex, and two are his, Austin and Elizabeth. We have a super spoiled but adorable miniature labradoodle, Zoe.
I am a professor of social work currently, and maintain a part-time private practice. I am working toward a PhD in Social Work Policy Practice and in February will officially be “All But Dissertation” (ABD)! I regularly present on topics from policy practice to ADHD to direct practice strategies. In January, I began a local homeless outreach, called Fortitude Canteen Outreach, that takes a team of volunteers out to our community each Thursday night to offer coffee, sandwiches, personal hygiene items, and clothes/coats, although our main purpose is to build relationships!
I love to write! I’m that nerd who loves to research and write papers but I love to write for fun too! I like to dabble in photography and love to travel.
